I knew she was tired

Image
Out cold in her rocker! Her head would drift, hit the table and she'd pull it back up.... Fast asleep. I got some pics and moved her to bed. I want a good nap!!!

Someone wants to go for a run

And it's not Sage this time!

Little reader

She's given up on us. We're SO boring. That and she hasn't worn clothes since this morn. Just a diaper. She apparently thinks that's just fine today. And I'm going to say a small child running around in a diaper seems a lot more decent that a toddler running around in just undies. I guess we'll have to continue the MM bribery! PS - the kid's hair is getting crazy long!

Cupcakes

The big football game

All Sage can say as we try to head out the door is, "it's party time!". Over and over and over.... I think she just wants a cupcake.

One of her fav things.

Adventures of a 2 1/2 yo.

The lullaby music is dueling, playing in both the girl's bedroom and my bedroom. Yet where is the small child? Right behind me. Waiting for Daddy to arrive and put her to bed. We call her a hoot. But lately she's been a big hoot. Talking like crazy. She told me today she wanted to drive to "Hi-ho". (Idaho). She also specifically requested onion rings. But best of all was the conversation we had on the drive home from lunch with Daddy. Do you want to go to college at Boise State or University of Oregon? University of Oregon. Do you want to go to college at University of Oregon or Oregon State? Oregon State. Did you know the mascot of Oregon State is a beaver. Do you want to be a beaver? - Stunned silence - Boise State! Oh, so you want to go to school at Boise State? Yes. Are you going to live with Grandma and Papa? Yes. And Ava and Jackson. (her cousins) You're going to live with Ava and Jackson? Ava and Jackson. Do you want to live in the dorm...

Ha-ha

I just looked at my blog. I haven't posted since March. March! I knew it had been a while, but that's almost six months. Good grief. At this point I am thinking I should just give up. However.... it seems that there are some new improvements that make it possible to blog from my phone. Could it be?!? I might actually get something posted that way. Hold on dear readers.... this blog may be redeemed just yet. :)

Go Orange, Go Big Blue

Image
I got a some friendly grief this morning about my post. Apparently by the time a child is two they should be able to chant "Go BSU!" and "Go Broncos!" ....and I've been focusing on the ABC's. I thought Cowgirl in the City might like some proof that not all is lost. At the time I received her comment, I turned around and using my trusty phone camera snapped some shots of Sage trying to say "Go Broncos". While you cannot see the wording on her sweatshirt due to the car seat, I would like to assure everyone that her sweats are not just blue and orange, but "official" Boise State gear. Not that any of this matters. After all Sage is just going to "Party" when she grows up. :)

Big Plans

We were driving to a toddler friends birthday party (the big two!) with Sage on Saturday when we made our way through Forest Grove. Forest Grove is to the west of us here in Hillsboro and is the home of Pacific University. As we drove by the campus with it's old buildings and dorms we decided to ask Sage a question. "Sage, are you going to go to college when you grow up?" "No!" "What are you going to do when you grow up?" "Party!" Well, there you have it. Sage is going to party when she grows up. I'd be more scared except we were on our way to a birthday party and Sage had but one thing on her mind: CAKE.

Snack

We went on a lovely sunny (but not too cold) walk today. And aside from coming home with a mud butt, Sage was ready for a snack when we got home. She stood in front of the fridge saying simply, "snack". While trying to get her to use words (why o why do we try so hard to get kids in their 2's to use words.... it's like herding cats), all she would say is "snack". So I opened the fridge door and said, "What do you want?" And she pointed (correctly) and said CLEAR AS DAY, "eggs!" "Eggs?" "Eggs!!!" "Scrambled?" "YA!" And four minutes later she has devoured TWO scrambled eggs. At four in the afternoon. Never mind that there are cookies sitting LITERALLY on top of the stove. Cookies I had to move to scramble the eggs. No, she wants eggs. Can they get any stranger???

thank you

Sage just wandered into the kitchen from the living room, carrying the laptop. The thing isn't exactly light. I took it from her and she said, "thank you". Crazy kid! Which leads me to my next post...

Santa

Image
You'll just have to excuse me, the Christmas posts keep right on coming. I've got some pics stored and away and when I have time ( when I get tired of surfing facebook ) I try to get them out there for all five of you. Because I think I've added a poor soul or two who follows my meanderings. Welcome to my niece and nephews daycare. We dropped in to see them in their Christmas programs. Apparently Santa was in the lobby. With candy canes. Jackson knew the drill and jumped in his lap. With the appearance of candy, Ava was not far behind. So, Ava jumps in to get a cute little poke from Santa and her sugar. Meanwhile, I ask Sage if she'd like to sit in Santa's lap. We hadn't done the Santa thing so I thought this was a good time to try it out. She wanted to do everything Ava did. She gave me a clear "NO!". And I suggested that maybe I could stand next to Santa while holding her so we could take a picture. "NO!" And then Santa...

The Incident

Image
I'm going to refer to this as the incident. Although, truth be told the whole week before we left for Idaho was an incident. These are the resulting pictures from when Sage was trying to climb onto the dining room table (or so we guess) from the time out chair where she had just been placed. This was after I found my new iphone in the cat's water dish but before the day where Scott went to Urgent Care because he thought he had appendicitis and as he walked out the door Tigger puked all over the floor. Needless to say the kid had been crawling out of her crib all week long and only managed to hurt herself when we were both right there, but not watching her. She's good like that. That's quite a nice fat lip if I don't say so myself.

Bathtime

Image
Ava was over and Sage needed to take a bath. Ava was more than happy to join in. If you think these pictures are sweet, you totally missed out being there. Total fun. Until we had to rinse Ava's hair. Then she wasn't so happy with us. It's okay, she got over it once I let her wear Sage's ducky pajamas. Her dad forgot to bring her some over. If Sage was wearing jammies, then she was too! PS. Does anyone love my MIL's gold bathtub? That's what I thought. She's planning to redo it eventually. Even she know's it's time in the limelight has faded. :)

Christmas Morn

Image
Christmas morning. please excuse the sleeping jammer looking me Sage doesn't know quite what to expect She's getting it now.... Boise State sweats. Uncle Jason rocks! See, that's uncle Jason watching us on the computer, all the way from Iraq. Can you see that's she starting to get the hang of this? Books and more books. Little kid heaven.

Christmas Eve

Image
Aunt Wendi bought herself a fancy smansy SRL camera for her anniversary. Which happened to be the 21st of Dec. Therefore, she got a lot of really really good pictures. Wecome to Christmas Eve. interrupting the cookie baking enjoying the super old, but fun, rocking horse "Mom, COOKIE!" the two of us. Just chillin'
