Creative Project

Image
Last week, this was my creative project. Lindsey said she wanted a pink leopard skin coat or bag. JoAnn's had the fabric, so I went to town. It's pretty wild, but as a jacket it's fairly decent. Lindsey loves it. I think it turned out pretty well. Next on the creative agenda : baby slings.

Stonewater @ Orenco: Snow Day @ Stonewater January 16-17, 2007

Our neighborhood realtor (who I have yet to meet) posted pictures of all the neighborhood snowmen. Our's made the cut! Okay, he probably just posted all the big ones around... which I'm assuming were mostly created by adults. Check out the last two pics. This snowman in person is absolutely awesome! See, Scott & I aren't the only crazys around. http://stonewateratorenco.blogspot.com/2007/01/snow-day-stonewater-january-16-17-2007.html#links

Steph than snowman than snowman again with Scott Family with Snowman That's right, another snow post. What are you to do with me! Well, when it snows 3 inches in Hillsboro, Oregon (which I recently learned is more like 200 ft. above sea level) you make the best of it. For us, it was a no brainer. Build a snow man. Life sized and then decorate him. This is our creation. Great snow for making a snowman or snowballs for the record. Gotta have fun, right? Schools are closed tomorrow already. Now, this feels like winter!

3 inches...

Oh Baby, it's Snowing!

The land of rain is receiving snow. It was snowing an hour ago when I measured 2 inches and it's still snowing. It's a winter wonderland! Schools are closed, traffic is messy and the news broadcast has taken over TV programming. Tigger has enjoyed pouncing in it and hunting snowflakes. I think it's just something else. I've got pictures and will be sure to add them in a bit. I'd say it doesn't feel like Oregon... but then in other places they wouldn't be making such a big deal out of it. Did I mention that it's really cool! I might have to go build a snowman....

It's snowing finally...

It's not supposed to snow in Portland (hum, I feel like I'm repeating myself here). All the same, since yesterday afternoon that's all the news can talk about. Artic front, dropping temps, 1-3 inches of snow, schools delay start times... you get the sad drift. So this morning: wet and raining. It was snowing some places, but not here and not in Portland! It was cold but not even icy. I was hoping they weren't making total fools of themselves. So at about 10am I noticed little flurries outside. That's still called snow here. Now there are big fat wonderful flakes coming down and from what I can tell they're sticking. It's quite pretty. I'll take more pictures and post them if it continues to snow. Otherwise by next winter I won't even believe myself.

Back to the Grind

Well, it's been a month since I've posted anything. Now I knew it had been a while, but a month! There are so many things to catch up on and now is the time since it's raining. (Big surprise, right?) I could use the excuse that it's hard to do anything during the holidays, but that would be a cop out. It's hard to do anything when your pregnant, planning and coordinating a family wedding, holidays, traveling, taking care of a husband, packing, cleaning, getting cards out, baking, wrangling a cat, and incubating an alien. So, lets just try to overview noteworthy mentionings from the life of random steph over the course of the last month. - Wendi got married. - Wendi got married and things when beautifully (literally and figuratively) - Boise State Broncos won their bowl game. - Boise State won their bowl game as the underdogs in a way that made it one of the best college games ever. (This is not just my opinion, go read commentaries at ESPN or Fox Sports or etc.
