I thought we moved to Hillsboro, Oregon, elevation ~ 500 ft.?

Believe it or not (I took pictures so you can believe it) it snowed last night in Hillsboro Oregon. Yes, our elevation is about 500 ft. above sea level. Yes, it is not supposed to snow here. Apparently the weather isn't listening. It was wonderful to wake this morning to see snow. It was a big deal. Anywhere else, they would call it a dusting and go about life. I haven't watched any news, but I'm sure it's the "top story". Myself, I ran outside to get pictures. Currently, a good portion of it has melted off, but little flurries are falling. Just in case you were wondering, "How do their homeowners association clean snow off the sidewalk in a place where they don't usually get snow?" The answer, they use leaf blowers and blow it away. Which leaves the crunched down footprints that will not blow away. At least it kind of looks cool....

Our four-footed friend loses his mind.

There is a reason we got a cat instead of a dog. One of those reasons includes not having a yard. But in general, at the time, a year and a half ago, a cat seemed like a better option. More independent, less maintenance, small, and well, I'm a cat fan. Tigger came into our lives at the right time in the right way and was probably the right cat. Tigger, however, has some dog like characteristics. For example, he's the first to greet guests at the door. He's very interested in shoes. He likes everybody. I thought these were great characteristics in a cat. Until last night. When you leave for four days, you are supposed to be able to leave the cat, alone, in the house, with food, water and a clean litter box. In fact, I even left a radio on for sound. In the past, I'd always had someone stop by and check on him, spend a little human quality time with Tigger. Yes, I do spoil my cat a little. This time, we would treat Tigger like the cat he is and leave him alone. Friends a

In the land of rain, it is currently snowing. No joke! I feel like I'm back in Idaho. If it sticks I'll take a picture. SNOW!
