Better parenting through coffee

This morning, I almost poured coffee creamer over my cereal. I guess I really did need that second cup of coffee. I'm working on that now.

Can you believe my grandparents ate cereal with cream on it all the time? Ugh! Better stick with the coffee.

Here's the real story. I was going to make myself a baby sling. Then I decided to make one for a friend since I had a while to go. The first sling (Tigger tested - see previous post) made it's appearance at the baby shower. Even though I was supposed to have enough fabric to make two that time, I didn't. Well, another friend announced her pregnancy soon after and I thought... "hum, that was easy, perhaps I'll make her a sling too, since I still need to make myself one." I asked her and she confided that she secretly hoped I'd make her one. So that made two. And then I realized how many friends I knew from all over that were pregnant (or delivered in December). Suddenly two slings to create kept multiplying. So, in my nesting-ness, I felt like they needed to be done NOW before the baby arrives. So, you're looking at a picture of six baby slings. Yep, six. Monster Child

I noticed that our dear little girl's clothes were getting tight. As in too small. I had guessed we wouldn't get through all the lovely 0-3 month clothes we had. Most were hand me downs, which made me glad because we didn't even look at a lot of them. Especially since she isn't even two months old yet. So, I went through her drawers and pulled out tons of clothes, rearranged and washed the new 3-6 month clothes I had. The only thing I wondered: Did she weigh enough to fit into those clothes? Or was it just the long torso that was throwing us off. I went to a breastfeeding group yesterday and had the opportunity to weigh her. Fully dressed (so subtract a couple ounces for clothing weight) she weighed... 12 pounds !!! Good grief! In the five weeks since her last doc. appointment she has gained over three pounds. One thing is for sure, I've going to develop buff arms before I know it!

Stonewater @ Orenco: Snow Day @ Stonewater January 16-17, 2007

Our neighborhood realtor (who I have yet to meet) posted pictures of all the neighborhood snowmen. Our's made the cut!
